Chief of Police, John M. Roehrig was hired by the City in February of 2005. Previously, he had spent the last 27 years working for the Village of Beverly Hills as a Lieutenant in their Public Safety Department, a completely consolidated police and fire department. John has a Bachhelor's degree from Wayne State University in Criminal Justice and has several credits towards a Masters from Eastern Michigan University. John has extensive experience and training in Community Policing and was the Training Officer for Beverly Hills for two years. He aspires to bring a completely open philosophy to his role as the Chief of Police.
